About me…..

I grew up in beautiful West Wales in the Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron and am a fluent 1st language Welsh Speaker (I even have an A Level in Welsh Language and Literature!) and very average French speaker. I moved down to Cardiff 20 years ago after I met my now wife by sheer chance. Married with 3 boys (and a dog), I love watching and playing Sport and still love getting out into the local lanes on my road bike for a couple of hours, or jumping on to the tennis court or golf course (non-contact sport is the way forward when you’re over 40!) I coach my son’s U10 football team and am always on the lookout out for new crazy challenges (most of which I tend to sign up for after having one too many but that’s another story.) I have worked as an IT Director in several mid sized SME’s with multi million pound turnovers, as well as a long stint in the 3rd sector which I enjoyed immensely. I am also very passionate about helping businesses achieve their objectives through the use of technology and take great pride in overseeing a well-run IT function. Having seen many organisations struggle to achieve this, I decided to take the plunge and set up my own consultancy practice (this was definitely not a challenge I took up after having one too many - it was a very clear headed and rational decision! ) Having gone through the process of guiding a businesses IT function through COVID, I feel that Five Nines IT Consultancy can add real value to businesses who do not have that dedicated, strategic senior IT resource to call upon when needed.
